UPA to seek trust vote on July 22
Saturday, July 12th, 2008
The UPA government will seek a trial of strength in the Lok Sabha on July 22 .
Congress chief Sonia Gandhi asserted that they would prove their majority, while presiding over a strategy session of the UPA Coordination Committee, where Prime Minister Manmohan Singh explained the developments related to the nuclear deal.
Gandhi said it was time for the UPA to look ahead after Left’s exit and praised Samajwadi Party for supporting the coalition.
The trust vote comes in the wake of Left parties with 59 members withdrawing support to the Government for going to the IAEA to take forward the Indo-US nuclear deal.
