SIMI mastermind of Ahmedabad blasts arrested

The Gujarat Police stated that Mufti Abul Bashir, the mastermind of the Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts, has been arrested from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. Based on information, the police have also arrested ten more people for the blasts.
At least 56 people were killed in the 21 blasts that hit Ahmedabad on July 26. The police have also claimed to uncover a network of SIMI activists involved in the blasts.
The police also said that they have got valuable information about other blasts and leads to the email through which the blast warning was sent. Two of the arrested have connections with Lashkar-e-Toiba.
According to the police, the suspects held several meetings in Vadodara and Ahmedabad before the blasts. A meeting was also held at the residence of SIMI activist Yunus in Ahmedabad. The explosives, which were assembled in Ahmedabad, were procured from outside the city.
