Deccan Mujahideen threat to Delhi
Soon after the terror attack on Mumbai, media offices received an email signed by a new outfit Deccan Mujahideen claiming responsibility for the terror strike.
An email has now been received, signed again by Deccan Mujahideen, that the Mumbai terror strike would be repeated in Delhi, particularly mentioning Indira Gandhi International Airport and three major railway stations.
Police in Delhi stepped up security checks at all vital installations. Three-wheeler autos in the capital have come under the security scanner after an intelligence alert. Acting on the three-wheeler threat, police are conducting random checks on autos, particularly around the airport.
During the last serial blasts in Delhi, a bomb had gone off in an auto at Ghaffar Market in Karol Bagh. Experts say, since three-wheelers run on CNG, an auto bomb is likely to cause more damage than an explosion in a petrol or diesel vehicle.
