Barack Obama nominated Democratic presidential candidate

Barack Hussein Obama, the youthful African-American Senator on Thursday night accepted the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.

In his acceptance speech, Obama promised to take a troubled United States to “that better place around the bend,” and urged Americans not to go for the same old politics with the same old players.

Before a crowd of 80,000 Obama pitched his message of change, confidently telling a nationwide TV audience that he will fix the broken politics of Washington. “America, we cannot turn back. We cannot walk alone… At this moment, in this election, we must pledge once more to march into the future,” Obama told the Democratic convention.

Incidentally, the address coincided with the 45th anniversary of Dr Martin Luther King’s I-Have-A-Dream speech.
