AP Congress party getting ready for general elections
Tuesday, June 10th, 2008
The Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh is on the job of revamping the party in its effort to be ready for the ensuing general elections.
The APCC president, D. Srinivas, initiated the process by holding an hour-long meeting with the district Congress committee presidents. During the meeting, he discussed the shortcomings and other problems in their respective districts besides plans to strengthen the party. The basic problem aired by DCC presidents was lack of coordination among various wings.
Sources said the PCC chief made it clear that non-functional DCCs would be replaced with active party leaders and stringent action would be taken against those indulging in anti-party activities.
