Andhra Pradesh drenched with heavy rain

Andhra Pradesh continued to be lashed by heavy rains resulting inflooding low-lying areas at many places and breaching irrigation tanks in many districts. Even Hyderabad has been affected. The citizens had a harrowing time battling flooded streets and traffic snarls.

Incessant rain fall breached around 116 minor irrigation tanks in 6 districts and one major irrigation tank in West Godavari district inundating about 40,000 acres of cultivated land.

Bobbili in Vizianagaram district received 7 cms of rain, while Anakapalle, Araku Valley and Paderu in Visakhapatnam district recorded 4 cms. The down pour in Hyderabad recorded 5 cms of rain.

Relief works in all the flood affected places are in full swing
