Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy cremated with State honours
Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh who was tragically killed in a helicopter crash was buried at at Idupulapaya in his native place Pulivendla in Kadapa district. Lakhs of mourners thronged the cremation area to pay their last respects.
Earlier, the ceremonially clad coffin was taken to Gandhi Bhavan and the Lal Bahadur Sastry stadium in Hyderabad for congress party men and the public to pay their respects to the departed leader.
UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, LK Advani, Deve Gowda, Sheila Dixit and other leaders paid their homage to YSR at Hyderabad.
Around 2.00 pm YSR’s body was flown to Idupulapaya for the final rites.
