2011 Cricket World Cup Secretariat may shift to India
The 2011 Cricket World Cup Secretariat is in the process of being established in Lahore with Salman Sarwar Butt, a senior Karachi-based banker, appointed as World Cup managing director, joining office.
According to ICC sources the World Cup Secretariat could be relocated to India in the wake of a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore earlier this month.
Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have to co-host the 2011 world cup.
It is likely that Pakistan may not host even a single World Cup match as there is a big question mark on Pakistan’s status as an international sporting destination.
