Wanted Hindi Movie Review

The Film

Wanted Dead or Alive is an action packed gangster war that is slickly made with powerful characters and an intensive narration style that appeals to all the mainstream audience.

The Synopsis

Radhe (Salman Khan) is a sharpshooter and killer for hire and works for the deadly Gani Bhai (Prakash Raj) on his own terms. Radhe eliminates all the enemies of Gani Bhai using both brute force and brains.

Jahnvi (Ayesha Takia) takes a fancy for Radhe but the latter appears to avoid her for some reason. Police inspector Talpade(Mahesh Manjrekar) has an evil eye on Jahnvy which enrages Radhe.

Police Commissioner Ashraf Khan (Govind Namdeo) wants to get rid of all the gangsters from the city of Mumbai while Gani Bhai wants to control all the crime syndicates of the city.

Then Gani Bhai realizes the truth about Radhe and with this twist the films moves on to an action packed climax.

The Performances

Salman Khan, with a gym-aided body, gives an excellent performance as the action hero and does it with commendable ease. He takes the entire film on his brave and able shoulders.

Ayesha Takia is scintillating. Prakash Raj gives a superb essay of the role of the deadly don. Mahesh Manjrekar is very convincing. Govind Namdeo is cool and committed. The cameos of Anil Kapoor and Vinod Khanna are good.

The Techniques

Wanted Dead or Alive is the Hindi remake of Mahesh Babu’s Telugu film Pokiri directed by Puri Jagannath. The Hindi version is directed by Prabhu Deva and with suitable changes in the screenplay comes out with very good execution of action sequences, romantic scenes and picturisation of songs. The screenplay by Shiraz Ahmed is crisp and speedy. Music by Sajid-Wajid is enjoyable. Cinematography by Nirav Shah and S Sriram is visually vibrant.

The Verdict

Wanted Dead or Alive is a film dealing with the raw realities of the underground mafia, but made very stylishly with wonderful performance by Salman Khan. This is a must see film for all the mainstream audience and a must for Salman’s fans.
