The Synopsis
A serial killer is loose on the roads who is killing unsuspecting victims by bashing their heads with a large stone. The media calls the killer stone-man.
After the fifth murder, the police appoint Kedar Phadke (Arbaaz Khan) to solve these killings. Meanwhile, a highly motivated sub-inspector Sanjay Shelar (Kay Kay Menon), who is under suspension for a custodial death starts an unofficial investigation with the blessings of AIG Satam (Vikram Gokhale) and taking tips from constable Kamble (Virendra Saxena).
There is enough rivalry between Sanjay and Kedar and the latter even suspects the former as the serial killer. Sanjay keeps a watch on the streets in the night to nab the serial killer in spite of a spat with his wife Manali (Rukhsar).

The Performances
Kay Kay Menon gives a scintillating performance as a conscientious police officer and also as a desperate cop trying to catch the murderer to redeem his position in the police force. Arbaaz Khan is cool and confident. Vikram Gokhale and Virendra Saxena fit the bill. Rukhsar is adequate.
The Techniques
The story and screenplay are very absorbing and the writer-director Manish Gupta did a superb job. Srikanth Naroj did very well particularly the night shots and chase sequences. Music by Siddhartth-Suhas is good and appropriate. Editing and audiography are good and enhance the narration values.

The Verdict
The Stonemam Murders is strictly a multiplex film and those mainstream viewers interested in suspense thrillers may also take a liking to this film.
This film is worth watching for the extraordinary performance of Kay Kay Menon.
