The Film
Lahore is a friendship movie that attaches bonds through kick-boxing and runs a parallel track of cooked-up peace between the two nations of the finalists.
The Synopsis
Lahore, once was a cousin of Delhi. There is an international kick-boxing tournament, where a Indian wins finally against a Pakistani, Then, tempers flare up and the some members of the Pakistan team kill the Indian champion.
Meanwhile there is a diplomatic initiative between the governments of India and Pakistan for peace process. The family members of the slain Indian champion seek revenge.
Who will succeed? Peace or Revenge?
The Performances
Aanaahad and Shraddha Das are fabulous. Farooq is always a Sheikh. Nafisa Ali is credible. Shraddha Nigam and are Saurabh Shukla are very convincing. Ashish Vidhyarthi, Mukesh Rishi and Nirmal Pandey can portray any role including those in this film.
The Techniques
Debutante director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan gives you a sample of what he is going to do in the times to come. Yes, Bollywood is going places! Everyone tends to experiment in movie-land but then there had been too many successes box-office or otherwise. This film is technically brilliant.
Screenplay is the +point. Keeravani’s misic is pleasing. Daler Mehndi’s song is a foot-tapper.
The Verdict
Oh Yeh Go to Lahore…It is worth the trip.
