Kambakkht Ishq Movie Review

The Film

Kambakkht Ishq is a stylishly made film telling the romance between an arrogant man and a headstrong woman.

The Synopsis

Viraj (Akshay Kumar), is an NRI and works as a stuntman in Hollywood. He is physically strong and is in the habit of flirting with anyone in a skirt. He is of the opinion that all women are only good for sleeping with.

Viraj’s brother Lucky (Aftab Shivdasani) is about to marry his fiancé Kamini (Amrita Arora) who has a close friend in Simrita Rai (Kareena Kapoor) a super model.

Simrita always wears a superior complex attitude and enters into verbal duel with males who look down upon women. Because of the romance between Lucky and Kamini, stuntman Viraj and super model Simrita happen to meet. But the two are always at loggerheads with each other.

Viraj and Simrita hate each other so much that they decide to break the proposed wedding of Lucky and Kamini.

Then there is a twist of fate which you have to watch on screen.

Performances

Akshay Kumar gives a spirited and energetic performance. Kareena Kapoor is glamour glorified. Amrita Arora is stylish with lots of oomph. Aftab is decent and convincing.

Javed Jaffrey, Boman Irani and Kirron Kher give creditworthy performances. Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh, Denise Richards are their usual selves.

Techniques

Though this is a mainstream mass masala film, the screen play is good with humorous dialogues. Music and song picturisation are pleasing. Cinematography by Vikas Shivraman, editing and audiography are world class. The presentation is on a canvas of spectacular dimension. The stunts are very exciting.The climax is well conceived and executed. The production values are very high.

The Verdict

Kambakkht Ishq is a very well made mass masala film with romance and comedy and action as is usual with Sajid Nadiadwala’s films and it can be watched for the performances of Akshay and Kareena plus the high technical values.
