Irrfan Khan replaces Sanjay Dutt in Alibaug
Saturday, July 12th, 2008
White Feather Films’ project Alibaug, a semi-autographical film directed by Sanjay Gupta, went on floors a few days ago in Mumbai after a break of six months.
The film started shooting with Sanjay Dutt in the lead character and later the actor walked out of the film for reasons not made public. Now the film resumed shooting after Gupta replaced Sanjay Dutt with Irrfan Khan.
Alibaug star cast includes Dia Mirza, Manasi Joshi Roy, Masumeh, Sanjay Suri, Parveen Dabas, Rohit Roy, Sudhanshu Pandey, Sameer Soni, Sanjay Suri, Sophie Choudry and Shabana.
Alibaug is Gupta’s most personal film because it deals with the time when he almost lost his life in a car accident four years ago. However it will be a lighter film unlike Zinda, the last film directed by Gupta, a dark film starring Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta and John Abraham.
