The Film

Chinthakayala Ravi is a Venkatesh trade-mark film with sufficient doses of family drama, romance, comedy, songs and dances.

The Synopsis

Chintakayala Ravi (Venkatesh) and three of his friends are in America earning their living by doing small time jobs. Ravi works as a bartender but misleads his mother (Lakshmi) in India by telling her that he is working as a software engineer. His mother selects Lavanya (Mamata Mohandas) as life partner to her son.

Because of lot of misgivings about NRI grooms Lavanya requests her friend Sunita (Anushka) who is in America to check out Ravi.

From then on start a series of incidents that ultimately culminate in an expected climax.

The Performance

Venkatesh once again comes out with a witty romantic performance that fits very well with his emoting potential. Mamatha Mohandas and Anushka have given good performances. Nikita’s cameo is enjoyable. Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav, Sunil and MS Narayana are their usual selves giving plenty of laughs. All other actors are adequate in their respective characters.

The voiceover of Prakash Raj and special item number by NTR Jr, Venu and Arti Chabria are good.

The Techniques

The story by Kona Venkat is smple and good. The screenplay and direction by Yogi is quite adequate. Music by Vishal Sekhar is an asset to the film and Mani Sharma scored background music it’s good. The song and dance sequences are picturised well. All other technical departments have put in decent performances. As a major part of the film has USA backdrop, there is a rich look. Production values are good.

The Verdict

This film is worthy of watching with the entire family as this is a wholesome entertainer. This film will be a great feast to all the fans of Venkatesh.
