11 Indian entries for Asia Pacific Screen Awards

Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) is promoted by the Queensland Government in association with CNN International, UNESCO and the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) to honour films that best reflect their cultural origins and cinematic excellence.

The Indian entries for the APSA 2008 include Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par, Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar, Colours of Passion by Ketan Mehta, Nandita Das’s directorial debut Firaaq, Return of Hanuman by Anurag Kashyap, Goddesses by Leena Manimekalai, Mahek by K. Kanade, The Prisoner by Pryas Gupta,Yes Madam, Sir directed by Megan Doneman, A Jihad for Love by Parvez Sharma and Lakshmi and Me by Nishtha Jain.

The APSA 2008 has attracted entries from over 180 films from 43 countries. The finalists for 9 out of the 12 APSA award categories will be announced on October 1 and the Awards ceremony will be held on November 11 at the popular tourist destination of Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
