
Satyam Ramalinga Raju suffers heart attack
The former chairman of Satyam Computers Ramalinga Raju was admitted to the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) after he suffered a heart attack in Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad on Monday and kept in the ICU.
S. Bharath Kumar, counsel for Raju, said his client suffered a heart attack at around 4.30 pm and his condition was critical till 7.30 pm. Raju is also suffering from Hepatitis C and blocks in the arteries. He had been checked by a team of doctors appointed by the government who recommended 48-week treatment to his liver.
Raju was arrested after he confessed to a Rs 8,000-crore financial fudge at Satyam Computer on January 7. He was housed in Chanchalguda Central Jail and the hearing in the case is in progress.
